As a home birth midwife, tracking you and your baby’s health throughout your pregnancy is vital. Rebecca offers 1 hour appointments for education, questions and planning. She offers midwifery care, homebirth and waterbirth options as a local home birth midwife. Rebecca offers a free consult for you to ask questions, meet her and decide if she is the right midwife for you.
Having a baby is a life changing event. We offer Homebirth services with a highly trained midwife so you can have your baby in the comfort of your home. A home birth midwife is a midwife who comes to your home for your babies birth. We also offer waterbirth options. Rebecca will come to your home for all your prenatal appointments, birth and postpartum appointments.
Our job isn’t done once delivery is over. Your team will stay in close contact with you after your birth to provide any assistance you need for healthy development. Your midwife believes in quality postpartum care. As your home birth midwife, Rebecca is on call for you 24/7 during your labor and after for the first week. Rebecca will come back to your home for several visits after your baby is born to help with breastfeeding support as well as to monitor your babies development and your recovery.
Rebecca Walker is a home birth midwife specializing in the midwifery model of care, waterbirth, breastfeeding and more. Her love for birth first started in the Lambing barn. She is now a homebirth advocate and supporter of autonomy for all mothers and families. A Midwife is a trained professional with special expertise in supporting women to maintain a healthy pregnancy birth, offering expert individualized care, education, counseling, and support to a woman and her newborn throughout the childbearing cycle. Rebecca is a skilled and independent primary Traditional Midwife who has not only the book knowledge, but the hands on skills passed down from midwifes through many years of serving woman.
We offer breastfeeding support. We asses for position issues, tongue ties, and more in the early days of breastfeeding to give you the best start. Your midwife is trained through the Institute for the Advancement of Breastfeeding and lactation education (IABLE). After struggling to breastfedd her first son, she started attending a breastfeeding support group. She took what she learned from that and successfully breastfeed her daughter and has helped countless woman do the same since. As a Midwife she continues to help woman reach their goals of breastfeeding by offering support at no additional cost.
The postpartum period is a vital time for you and your baby. We will do everything possible to protect this period for you both.
We highly recommend getting a doula for your homebirth. We can help you find the right doula to support you in your birthing journey. Your midwife offers homebirth midwife and waterbirth services, but is not a doula. Doulas help woman with comfort measures and support during their labor, but are not midwives. Midwives help with some comfort measures, but are not to be relied on for hours of labor support. Your midwife is at your birth in case something arises that is out of the normal for you or baby. Your midwife needs to be well rested and mentally alert for you and your baby when the birth happens. If you feel you will need more labor support than your midwife can offer, we recommend that you get a doula to help support you.
Please contact Rebecca directly with any questions, comments, or scheduling inquiries you may have for home birth midwife services as well as homebirth midwife waterbirth services.
